JBL ProAquaTest NO2 Nitrite
Regular price Dhs. 68.50 Save Dhs. -68.50JBL ProAquaTest NO2 Nitrate is a quick and effective test to determine the optimal nitrite value in freshwater and marine aquariums and in ponds. Nitrite is a toxic nitrogen compound, which is formed when the bacterial balance is disturbed or when setting up a new aquarium. The test shows the exact nitrite content of the water
Why test?
Nitrite is produced when bacteria degrade protein and ammonium. It is normally processed further into non-toxic nitrate. In aquarium and pond water nitrite (NO2) should not be measurable. If nitrate is measurable, it is a sign that the bacterial degradation process has been disturbed. From a concentration of 0.4 mg/l onwards it is dangerous or even fatal for fish, because nitrite blocks the transport of oxygen in the blood. This can be remedied by water changes and good bacteria starters, such as JBL Denitrol and JBL BactoPond.
Simple at home laboratory comparator system, to use simply fill glass vials with sample water, add reagents to one vial, place vials in holder, read values off colour chart. When setting up a new freshwater aquarium it is recommended to run the test daily for 3 weeks. For marine aquariums the test can be run once per week. You will find detailed information and troubleshooting tips about water analysis on the JBL website in Essentials/Aquarium or Pond.
1 nitrate test is suitable for approx. 40 measurements, incl. 2 reagents, 2 glass vials with screw caps, syringe, dosing spoon, comparator block and colour scale.
1 nitrite test is suitbale for approx. 50 measurements, incl. 2 reagents, 2 glass vials with screw caps, syringe, comparator block and colour scale.
Recommended nitrite values:
Freshwater aquarium (community aquarium): 0-0.2 mg/l
Lake Malawi/Lake Tanganyika aquarium: 0-0.2 mg/l
Plant aquarium with few fish (aquascaping): 0-0.2 mg/l
Marine aquarium: 0-0.2 mg/l
Pond: 0-0.2 mg/l

JBL ProAquaTest Mg-Ca Magnesium-Calcium
Regular price Dhs. 125.50 Save Dhs. -125.50JBL ProAquaTest Mg-Ca Magnesium-Calcium is a simple and reliable monitoring of marine aquarium water values to determine the ideal magnesium and calcium value for vigorous and healthy growth in corals and calciferous red algae. The test is really easy to carry out, first run the calcium test, then the magnesium test; subtract the result of the calcium test from the result of the magnesium test – the result gives you the magnesium content. You will find detailed information and troubleshooting tips about water analysis on the JBL website in Essentials/Aquarium or Pond. Package contains: 1 test kit Mg and 1 test kit Ca, incl. 5 reagents, 2 plastic cuvettes, syringe and dosing spoon.
Why test?
Along with calcium, magnesium creates the general hardness. Magnesium is, like potassium, a macroelement, which is necessary for the healthy and vigorous growth of corals. Too low calcium and magnesium levels affect coral growth and prevent beautiful calciferous red algae from growing.
Recommended calcium values:
Marine water aquarium: 1200-1600 mg/l

JBL Pro AquaTest KH Carbonate Hardness
Regular price Dhs. 50.00 Save Dhs. -50.00JBL ProAquaTest KH Carbonate Hardness is a quick test for simple and reliable monitoring to determine the ideal carbonate hardness (KH) in freshwater and marine aquariums and ponds. To test simply fill the plastic cuvette with sample water, add reagent drop by drop until colour changes from blue to yellow. Number of drops = level of carbonate hardness. Ideal to start using when you set up a new aquarium and test once per week upon setup and thereafter run the test once a month. You will find detailed information and troubleshooting tips about water analysis on the JBL website in Essentials/Aquarium or Pond. Package contents: 1 KH quick test, incl. one reagent and plastic cuvette.
Why test?
The well-being of aquarium and pond dwellers and the healthy growth of aquatic plants depend to a large extent on the KH level being kept as constant as possible. The carbonate hardness is one of the most important water values since it keeps the pH level stable. The KH should never drop below 4 °dKH.
Recommended KH values:
Freshwater aquarium (community aquarium): 5-12 °dKH
Lake Malawi/Lake Tanganyika aquarium: 7-20 °dKH
Plant aquarium with few fish (aquascaping): 3-8 °dKH
Marine aquarium: 7-10 °dKH
Pond: 7-10 °dKH
