Seachem StabilityRegular price Dhs. 25.50 Save Dhs. -25.50
Seachem Stability will rapidly and safely establish the aquarium biofilter in freshwater and marine systems, thereby preventing the #1 cause of fish death: "new tank syndrome". Stability is formulated specifically for the aquarium and contains a synergistic blend of aerobic, anaerobic, and facultative bacteria which facilitate the breakdown of waste organics, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. The bacteria employed by Stability are non-sulfur fixing and will not produce toxic hydrogen sulfide. Stability is completely harmless to all aquatic organisms as well as aquatic plants, thus there is no danger of over use. Stability is the culmination of nearly a decade of research and development and represents the current state of the art in natural biological management.
The bacteria used in competing products are inherently unstable. The conditions necessary for their growth and development fall into a very narrow range of temperatures, pH, organic loads, etc. When any of these parameters are not strictly within the proper range, the bacterial culture quickly crashes and dies. Stability is not limited this way. The necessary conditions for the growth of Stability's bacteria strains encompass a very broad range. When other bacteria begin to die off (usually from high organic loads caused by the undetected death of an organism), Stability simply becomes more effective.
Directions: Shake well before use. Turn off UV/ozone. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 US gallons) on the first day with a new aquarium. Then use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) daily for 7 days. Fish and other aquatic species may be introduced at any time as long as dosage is maintained for 7 days. For optimum biofilter performance use 1 capful for each 80 L (20 US gallons) once a month or with each water change and whenever introducing new fish or whenever medicating an aquarium. Product shelf life is 4 years from date of manufacture. Stability should ideally be used in conjunction with biological filtration such as Seachem Matrix. For emergency ammonia control, use Seachem AmGuard.
Seachem PristineRegular price Dhs. 29.50 Save Dhs. -29.50
Seachem Pristine uses bio-augmentation, a non-chemical and natural method, to improve water quality. It provides bacteria that break down excess food, waste and detritus in freshwater and marine systems. It will also reduce excess nutrients (e.g. ammonia, nitrates, and nitrites) that may fuel the growth of nuisance and disease-causing organisms. Pristine increases water clarity and promotes overall better health for the aquatic environment.
The species of bacteria in Pristine are a unique blend, specifically developed for hardiness and their ability to adapt to a wide variety of environmental conditions.
The bacteria species in Pristine thrive in fresh or salt water and can utilize a wide range of organic compounds, including fats that can cause unsightly films. Unlike traditional nitrifying bacteria, this bacterial blend can adapt to harsh or low oxygen environments and continue to multiply and improve water conditions. Biopolymers produced by established bacterial colonies trap particulates and increase water clarity.
Directions: Shake well before use. Turn off UV/ozone. Use 1 capful (5 mL) for each 40 L (10 US gallons). Then use a maintenance dose of 1 capful (5 mL) per 80 L (20 US gallons) with additions of livestock or the disruption of the biofilter through cleaning or medications. Antibiotics should be removed with fresh carbon and a water change before adding bacteria. Allow 2 or 3 days for the bacteria to become established before using UV sterilizers or ozone. Recurring problems with high nutrients can indicate overstocking, overfeeding or inadequate filtration.
Product shelf life is 4 years from date of manufacture.

Seachem FlouriteRegular price Dhs. 94.50 Save Dhs. -94.50
Seachem Flourite is a specially fracted stable porous clay gravel for the natural planted aquarium. Its appearance is best suited to planted aquaria, but may be used in any freshwater aquarium environment. Flourite is most effective when used alone as an integral substrate bed, but it may be mixed with other gravels.
SET-UP: Although it is pre-washed, because Flourite is a natural product, it may become dusty in transit and require rinsing before use to remove any residual dust. When adding water to aquarium, fill slowly to avoid disturbing Flourite substrate bed. Place a bowl in the aquarium and add water directly to the bowl, allowing water to overflow softly on to the gravel bed. Initial cloudiness is normal. To remove cloudiness, use mechanical filtration (such as filter floss). Use Clarity to accelerate clearing.
Seachem de-nitrateRegular price Dhs. 19.00 Save Dhs. -19.00
Seachem de❊nitrate is an economical, natural, porous material with a pore distribution and geometry that promotes both aerobic nitrification within the first few millimeters of depth and anaerobic denitrification at the core. The material has a high surface area and supports a high density of bacteria. Although de❊nitrate has capacity to trap nitrate, this, as with other nitrate retaining materials, such as certain zeolites and synthetic resins, is quite limited and the primary mechanism of nitrate removal is anaerobic. “Live” rocks or reef rocks remove nitrate by anaerobic denitrification. de❊nitrate removes nitrate by the same process. Efficiency is magnified several folds by forcing the water to filter through the porous de❊nitrate. As with reef rock, anaerobic conditions are achieved by the porosity and the depletion of oxygen by the aerobic process at the surface. Excessive flow rates should, therefore, be avoided, as they may impede development of an adequate anaerobic environment to support denitrifying bacteria. de❊nitrate is also an excellent media for aerobic nitrification and it makes an ideal biological filter in drip trays, canister filters, sumps, or even box filters. At high flow rates (greater than 100 US gallons per hour), it will function solely as an aerobic filter. At slow flow rates (less than 50 US gallons per hour), it will function as both an aerobic filter and an anaerobic denitrifying filter.
Directions: For best results, de❊nitrate should be placed to assure the flow of water through it, such as in a canister filter, chemical filtration module, or box filter. Flow rate should not exceed 200 L (50 US gallons) per hour. If higher flow rates are unavoidable, use Matrix or Pond Matrix. It is best to rinse off dust before use. Once de❊nitrate has been in use for several days, nitrate concentrations should start to fall and level off gradually at a concentration of about 4–5 mg/L as nitrate. As long as nitrate concentrations remain under control, the product is not exhausted. Each 500 mL of de❊nitrate treats about 100–200 L (25–50 US gallons), depending on initial nitrate concentration and the current biological load. Enough should be used to remove nitrate at a rate at least as fast as the rate of formation. If very high nitrates are initially present, they should be brought down to less than 20 mg/L with water changes.

Hobby Catappa Bark (12 pcs)Regular price Dhs. 52.50 Save Dhs. -52.50
The leaves and bark of catappa have been widely used in aquariums in Asian countries for a long time already. Owners and breeders of various fish and animals such as fighting fish, discus, shrimp, crawfish and pecostomus use the leaves and bark for the treatment of bacterial ailments, and also to heal injuries of fish, such as bites or transportation wounds. The risk of wound infections is tremendously decreased when our catappa leaves and catappa bark pieces are being used. The effect of catappa bark is similar to that of catappa leaves (Catappa Leaves), but considerably stronger. The comprised humic acid and tanning agents strengthen the mucous membranes of the fish and make it difficult for bacterial pathogens to permeate this protection. Likewise, the bark pieces are conducive to the reproduction and breeding of your fish. On the one hand, they promote the mating disposition of your fish, on the other they reduce fungi spawn. Even the growth of blue algae (cyanobacteria) will be inhibited by the compounds. It is remarkable, too, that the bacteria useful to the aquarium are verifiably not impaired. When transporting fish, it is strongly recommended to a add a small piece of catappa bark or catappa leaves to the water used. This decreases the susceptibility and stress significantly which the animals experience from the high concentrations of bacteria. You may as well condition your fresh water with our catappa bark pieces before you conduct a water change. This helps reduce stress for you fish. By releasing humic acids and tanning agents, catappa bark creates a natural surrounding and increases the vitality and well-being of your aquarium inhabitants. It is good to know that the retrieval of the bark, no tree is being harmed nor perished.
Usage: Put a piece of bark directly into the aquarium. One piece of catappa bark is sufficient for approx. 100 l of water. The bark will sink to the bottom of the aquarium in a little while. Should you need a fast disposal of the active ingredients, infuse the catappa bark quickly in hot water. Usually, the active agents in our catappa bark are released to the water during a period of approx. 3 weeks. After that, you may introduce a fresh piece to the aquarium. The used catappa bark piece can remain in the aquarium as additional feed or hide-out for crustaceans and shrimps, or may be discarded. If you use catappa bark in addition to catappa leaves, please consider this when determining the dosage. Catappa bark can be kept for an indefinite period of time if stored at a dry place. Since it is a purely natural product, changes in form, color and size may occur.

The degradation or mineralisation process of all organic substances in the aquarium and pond follows these stages: proteins > ammonium > nitrite > nitrate. By measuring these stages conclusions can be drawn about the “functioning” of the systems aquarium and pond. If the ammonium or nitrite level is too high it can lead to disturbances of the bacterial balance. Ammonium is not usually measurable in a well-kept aquarium with an effective biological filter or in a properly set up garden pond. Ammonium is an important plant nutrient and normally non-toxic for fish. But depending on the pH value, ammonia, which is toxic for fish, can be formed from the ammonium ion.
Recommended ammonium values:
Freshwater aquarium (community aquarium): < 0.25 mg/l
Lake Malawi/Lake Tanganyika aquarium: < 0.25 mg/l
Plant aquarium with few fish (aquascaping): < 0.25 mg/l
Marine aquarium: 0-0.25 mg/l
Pond: <0.1 mg/l
Package contents: 1 quick test, ammonium test NH4 for approx. 50 measurements. Incl. 3 reagents, 2 glass vials with screw caps, syringe, comparator block and colour scale.
