Exo Terra Glow Light
Regular price Dhs. 126.00 Save Dhs. -126.00The Exo Terra Glow Light gives you the versatility of placing heat and/or light sources on your terrarium where needed. The device is sturdily constructed, with a metal reflector, heat resistant ceramic socket, and a spring-loaded swivel clamp. It can be easily turned off and on by the switch, mounted on the extra long power cord. The inside of the reflector is coated with a highly reflective luminous coating that continues to glow long after the lamp is turned off. This allows diurnal reptiles and amphibians to retreat in their night burrow or hiding without stress. A moon-like glow enables nocturnal reptiles and amphibians to see properly without disturbing their night cycle. It is also ideal to monitor your animals during night time, without switching on the lights which can cause stress and disorientation. This multi-purpose fixture fits a variety of screw-based bulbs; Daytime Heat Lamp, Intense Basking Spot, Daylight Basking Spot, Halogen Basking Spot, Repti Glo Compact 2.0, 5.0 & 10.0, Infrared Basking Spot, Solar Glo 125W, etc. The coating reflects the otherwise wasted light rays and stores the light energy during daytime and slowly releases it at night, which makes this fixture more energy efficient then conventional fixtures. No need to add an additional night bulb, unless used as a heating source. Available in Small (14cm) and Large (25cm) options.

JBL Solar Reptil Sun T8
Regular price Dhs. 135.00 Save Dhs. -135.00JBL SOLAR REPTIL SUN T8 - Special T8 terrarium fluorescent tube for desert animals.
For all desert animals which are exposed to full sunlight in their natural habitat

High UV-B proportion (8.0 %)
High UV-A proportion (36.0 %)
Colour rendering and full spectrum are guaranteed for 12 months. Includes reminder label for replacement
Terrarium animals are cold-blooded animals, highly dependent on light, especially on the quality and intensity of the light. Activity, food intake, digestion or rest phases are influenced by the change of day and night and the intensity of light. Depending on the light source, there are differences in output and quality of the light.
Which light for which animals?
Only a few of the general statements are right. It is true that desert animals, which are active during the day, are exposed to strong UV radiation. For rainforest animals this is more complicated: As long as the animals stay under the leafy canopy of the rainforest they will have no or just very low UV radiation requirements. But whenever the animals live in the leafy canopy or at the riverbanks, their UV requirements can increase to that of desert animals! Therefore it is important that you deal with the habitat AND the habits of the animals.
An example: The leopard gecko is a nocturnal desert dweller. But its activity period starts in the twilight when you can indeed measure some (slight) UV radiation. That’s why such animals also need to be supplied with light containing UV radiation (JBL SOLAR Reptil Sun) during their rest periods and with nightlight (JBL SOLAR OceanBlue) during their activity period.

Repti Glo 5.0 Compact Tropical Terrarium Lamp
Regular price Dhs. 110.00 Save Dhs. -110.00Repti Glo 5.0 Compact Tropical Terrarium Lamp is ideal for all tropical and sub-tropical reptiles. The Exo Terra Repti Glo 5.0 has a moderate to high UVB output, similar to that of shady environments such as rain forests and other tropical locations. Reptiles living in these habitats receive less UV radiation because of the many climatological conditions (fairly high humidity, changes in weather, etc) that prevent direct sunlight from reaching them or their basking sites. Provides necessary UVB rays for optimal calcium metabolism and stimulates appetite, activity and reproductive behaviour through UVA radiation. Comes in two different options: 13 Watt or 26 Watt.
